Activision confirmed today that the next Call of Duty game will be arriving on November 9 and will be titled Call of Duty: Black Ops. The press release comes on the heels of the Black Ops website going live today, perhaps a bit early, in anticipation of the exclusive GameTrailers TV reveal of the first trailer for the title very late tonight/early tomorrow morning at 12:40 AM on Spike TV.

Valve sent out a press release last night that announced the official Steam arrival date on the Mac as May 12.

The press release included no additional information, but it’s nice to know that Valve is quickly moving from beta to full release in a hurry. Originally, when Steam for the Mac was announced it was indicated that the game client would arrive in April. Valve gave no reason for the delay, but the arrival of Steam is a welcome addition to the Mac catalog. continue reading…

Yesterday Bungie announced that they are joining forces with Activision for the next decade after their exclusive agreement with Microsoft ended in 2007. In the press release issued yesterday Bungie President Harold Ryan said, “We chose to partner with Activision on our next IP because of their global reach, multi-platform experience and marketing expertise. From working together over the past nine months on this agreement, it is clear that Activision supports our commitment to giving our fans the best possible gaming experiences.” continue reading…

A new, extended version has shown up on YouTube, and adds nearly two minutes more to the experience. Don’t expect much new, though. The video simply expands upon scenes by showing more of the same moments from the first film – new angle, extended cuts and more needlework.

It’s well worth the watch, though, and should get fans appropriately riled up for the Halo: Reach beta, which arrives on May 3. Check it out after the break.
