iPhone Title Announced Yesterday Is Not “The” Assassin’s Creed Multiplayer Release

February 4, 2010 – Ubisoft told MTV that Assassin’s Creed II: Multiplayer will not be the only multiplayer Assassin’s Creed II title released in the near future. The multiplayer iPhone title that was announced yesterday stirred speculation that it would be the Assassin’s Creed multiplayer title that Ubisoft had been hyping recently.

MTV’s Russ Frushtick contacted Ubisoft to clarify whether Assassin’s Creed II: Multiplayer was the aforementioned and touted multiplayer title, to which Ubisoft curtly replied, “Nope.”

Sounds like a PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 Assassin’s Creed game featuring Ezio and multiplayer elements is coming this year. Sweet.
