5. Star Wars The Old Republic

Will this finally be the game to turn me over to the dark side? I have had a weird love/hate relationship with MMOs for the last four years of my life. Since moving to Newmarket, most of the friends I have played World of Warcraft, and even one of them was kicked out of school because of it. However, I have never played a MMO for more than two months for the fear of losing my life in a game. However, combining my love for Star Wars and BioWare, I do not know if I can stand this test of will.

If anyone has played Knights of the Old Republic, you know what you are walking into. It takes place 3000 years before the Star Wars movies and 300 years after the first KOTOR game. You will be able to choose which side to join, either Republic or Empire. On the Republican side, your choice is to play as a Jedi Knight, Smuggler, Trooper, or Jedi Consular. While on the Empire side, you can play as a Sith Warrior, Imperial Agent, Bounty Hunter, or Sith Inquisitor. This will be the first fully voiced MMO. There will be different outcomes and dialog trees that affect your universe of Star Wars. Oh and did I mention this is a Star Wars game? Yeah, Star Wars. Star Wars The Old Republic will be dropping in sometime in 2010.

Stars Wars: The Old Republic is a MMO Star Wars game developed by Bioware, the same guys who made Knights of the Old Republic, Mass Effect and Dragon Age: Origins. How could it not make number five on our list?

    @ktchong

    Bethesda has already said Elder Scrolls V isn’t happening. They probably realized they could make much more money, without even trying (Fallout 3), and thus dropped the series.
