Who says PC gaming is dead?

If someone says to you “Look old man, PC Gaming is dead. Move on and buy a console,” tell them, “Look here, bub, I’ve got a list of games that can match up with, if not blow away any console you have.”

As part three of our 2010 preview, we present Terminal Gamer’s 10 Most Anticipated PC Games of 2010:

10. I Am Alive

Out of all the games on this list, this is the only new IP. This title was announced in June of 2008 and has been in development ever since. However, when put up against other games on the list, its development time, estimated at three years, is nothing in comparison. The premise of the game is that a natural disaster hits Chicago. destroying much of the city and forcing everyone to fend for themselves. There is speculation that this game will be an FPS but from the video that Ubisoft has shown it looks like it should a third person action adventure. As of right now, it is scheduled to be released in Q1 2010, but don’t hold your breath.

I Am Alive, at number ten on our list, features a Chicago that's really gone south in a hurry.

9. Dark Void

This game fits all your needs for flying. Period. Forget about Crimson Skies, Dark Void is the game for airborne acrobatics. Dark Void is a sci-fi action-adventure game that combines an adrenaline-fuelled blend of aerial and ground-pounding combat. Set in a parallel universe called “The Void,” players take on the role of Will, a pilot dropped into incredible circumstances within the mysterious Void. This unlikely hero soon finds himself swept into a desperate struggle for survival, joining forces with a rebel human group called The Survivors. Trapped in the Void, these resistance fighters are battling to hold off a mysterious alien race that threatens Earth. Using Will’s jetpack players will be able to hijack UFOs and take them on a joyride as well as aid him in vertical combat. Expect Dark Void to hit shelves January 19.

Dark Void is number nine on our list. Jetpack? Check. Action? Check. Anticipated? Check.

8. Metro 2033

In 2013 the world was devastated by an apocalyptic event, annihilating almost all mankind and turning the earth’s surface into a poisonous wasteland. A handful of survivors took refuge in the depths of the Moscow underground, and human civilization entered a new Dark Age. Is this more than a Fallout 3 rip off set in Moscow? Absolutely. This is not a RPG by any standard, but a full-blown FPS. Get ready to put on your gas mask in Q1 2010.

Metro 2033, featuring an action-filled, post-apocalyptic Moscow, sets it aims high, at number 8 on our list.

7. Diablo III

Diablo III is yet another Blizzard game that has suffered massive delays. With Diablo II coming out in the summer of 2000, the wait for Diablo III may not be as long a wait as that for Star Craft 2 but it is still a decade later and now, hope abounds for a third instalment of the Diablo franchise. Diablo III takes place 20 years after Diablo II. The heroes that fought the army of the burning hells either went insane or forgot that it even happened. The heroes that you now play return to Tristram and meet up with everyone’s favourite NPC, Deckard Cain. There are 5 classes to choose from, four of which, the Barbarian, the Witch Doctor, the Wizard and the Monk, have already been revealed. We have been teased by Blizzard with concept art, screenshots, character videos, and even a couple of gameplay demos but there is still no announced release date. Don’t hold your breath, but there is a chance that Diablo III might come out next year.

Diablo III has been years in coming, but we can't wait to get our hands on it. Number 7 on our list.

6. Crysis 2

After straining graphics cards everywhere, Crysis is back with a sequel. This time, Crysis 2 will appear on consoles as well, with Crytek’s CryEngine 3 creating cross-platform optimization. Although this PC-specific franchise is now branching off to the console world, the PC version will not suffer from framerate issues or scaled down graphics. As far as story goes, there is no information about what Crysis 2 will be like other than that there is a new nano suit and that it takes place four years after the first Crysis. Be sure to have your computer pumped with steroids by sometime next year.

Featuring gorgeous graphics, Crytek's famed shooter action, and a new nanosuit, Crysis 2 is number 6 on our list.

    @ktchong

    Bethesda has already said Elder Scrolls V isn’t happening. They probably realized they could make much more money, without even trying (Fallout 3), and thus dropped the series.
