The game takes place before the events of the first Halo game....the planet Reach comes under attack by a fullscale invasion...luckily, the Spartans are being trained there, so they've got some solid back up. The game will prolly cameo the MC as he escapes aboard the Pillar of Autumn. After leaving Reach, they arrive at the first Halo, from the first game...that's how it all ties in.
