NPD Sales Figures Reveal Top Selling Consoles, Games
According to sales figures released by NPD group for the month of November, Modern Warfare 2 has broken the previous sales record held by Halo 3. Halo 3 sold 3.3 million units in 12 days when it was released while Modern Warfare sold more than 6 million units in a span of 19 days, according to NPD.
The numbers also revealed that the PS2 continues to receive strong sales nine years after it’s release.
Speaking about the numbers, Anita Frazier of NPD said, “While this year’s top-selling item bested last year’s by 283%, it couldn’t make up for softness elsewhere. The top 50 games this year sold 5% less units than did the top 50 last year.”
